The K-Lite Codec Pack is a free collection of codecs and related tools. Codec is short for Compressor-decompressor. Codecs are needed for encoding and decoding (playing) audio and video. The very user-friendly installation is fully customizable, which means that you can install only those components that you want. There are three versions of the K-Lite Codec Pack: The Basic version contains only the most essential codecs and related tools. The Standard version contains everything what is needed to play all the commonly used formats. The Full version contains even more codecs and also has encoding support. The Corporate version is a special version for use in a corporate environment.

#66334 Posted on: 06/01/2007 03:57 AM A nvidia card with a crappy set of drivers has done it to me, something with the overlay. The driver just changes the color channel's values and make them all out of whack. I think all were beta drivers that I was trying. Get the newest whql and see what happens.

#66335 Posted on: 06/01/2007 06:33 PM Many thanks for the explanation The_GURU. I do have a nvidia card as well, 6600GT AGP 128MB. I got the v93.71. Just noticed nvidia have FINALLY updated there site to show the v94.24. I'll try those. Thanks again

#66336 Posted on: 06/02/2007 02:41 AM oops, also be sure to fully uninstall the drivers. Uninstall like normal and run DriverCleaner (preferably in safe-mode), it deletes everything so there can't be any conflicting crap.
