I hope it runs fast. Having played through Doom, Quake 4, and FEAR...all of these new "high detail" next gen games move VERY slowly. I'm not talking about the frames per second either. The games just move at a crawl. The runspeed is slow and everything feels like you're underwater the whole time. |

Tell me you agree when I say Quake 4 outdoors was horrible! Is it not? The skybox reminds me of the Bid For Power mod for Quake 3 where when you fly up really high you see how you're in a big circle and the landscape is just a piece of land floating in the middle. Quake 3 was the same way, but it wasn't as noticeable. Somehow it's just as obvious in Quake 4. |

As opposed to Doom3 and Quake4, YES. Personally I found the pacing for Quake 2 and the Unreal games to be quite good. Half-Life 2, too. I just don't like the new lighting-centric games. They feel sluggish and choppy. I'm not sure if FEAR is based on the Doom3 engine or a variant, but it does it, too. |

Half Life has better outdoors - and a lot faster. |
