Apple engineers squeezed all the best features of iPod into a case weighing just 3.6 ounces and smaller than any cell phone. iPod mini features an anodized aluminium case that resists stains and scratches. The case weighs practically nothing, but protects iPod mini in your pocket, purse or backpack. Recessed in the case to keep its surface pristine wherever you lay it, the 1.67 inch (diagonal) backlit screen displays full song names and more.. Available on Mac and Windows for just $249.

i hope they fixed toe problem with the old ipod where the battery died after 18 month and you had to pay a $250 fee to have the ipod sent in and have the builtin battery replaced. |

Pretty ironic seeing how Apple went absolutely out of their way to deny the possibility of this last week. There was a huge article on several tech sites and even on Yahoo where they claimed that there would not be any smaller or cheaper ipod's due to hard drive technology/size limitations and their desire not to use flash memory. Oh well...I've been looking for a new MP3 player and these seem right up my alley if the whole battery thing is no longer an issue... |

hm, unless apple has reinvented the way how rechargeable batteries works, the ipod battery will still die after 18 months which is quite normal for batteries like these. The ipod battery has a duty cycle of about 500 which is more than the average rechargeable battery offers. |

I would hold off on the buy for many reasons.. First of all its not a good deal, 4 gigs for 250$ is a rip! Second it should drop a lot in price after a while, seeing as not many people would pay 250$. When they can get a proper Ipod for 50$ more or a Dell 15 gig player for the SAME price.. |

I really wasn't concerned with the price and capacity so much as the size. I've got a Nomad Jukebox (to old 6GB ones that are massive and die within 2 hours) and want something that will at least hold that much data, but is a LOT smaller and has a decent battery life. I was looking around and the mini iPOD seemed to be right up my alley. Most of the other players are bigger and every bit as costly...or tiny and cheap, but only holding a few hundred megs at best. Any suggestions? |
