Intel's Future Plans ...

quote:
"What's going on with Intel? That's the question everybody is asking. Why didn't they switch their Prescott to 64-bit, why is the Extereme Edition the Extreme Expensive edition and why do they keep on throwing Celerons in our face? Although many of us might wonder what the answers are, AMD, in the meanwhile, is winning the race. 64-bit CPU's are taking over the market swiftly. Intel keeps on looking into BTX and other less important stuff (hmm ...). The Itanic or what most call the Titanic has actually hit the iceberg, and it didn't win. Bluetooth got smacked by Wi-Fi. First off, in a comment to the guy who actually wrote this BS.

You're wrong.

2nd of all, in another comment.

You're wrong again.

3rd of all, this is probably one of the reasons why I have never heard of your site and probably won't ever go there again.

4th of all, who the hell allowed this to be submitted to warp2search?

Who said "64-bit cpus are taking over the market swiftly"? Most businesses I see are still running Xeon servers, the older versions at that.

BTX is a highly important case design and thermal layout. Who are you to care? It's free freakin' cooling. ATX was not designed to handle such high speed components. After all, ATX has been around for many years where video cards didn't even use fans (though some had heatsinks).

Anyway, this guy is just flat out assenine.

Oh, and real 64 bit cpus don't do 32 bit.

I suppose you mean Itanium 2 and not Xeon, in which case you are right.
