Intel's Conroe Spanks AMD FX-62's Botty - for Real

HEXUS has managed to run a complete set of benchmarks for two speed grades of Intel Conroe CPUs in our HEXUS labs - guaranteed free of bias - and we've compared their performance to the Presler Extreme Edition 965 and, uniquely, to today's baby from AMD, its Athlon 64 FX-62. 'Nuff said? Oh, you actually want to know the numbers?
We first learned of Conroe's alleged performance when our Editor-In-Chief, David Ross, managed to gain access to a set of benchmarks that showed a 2.66GHz model soundly beating an overclocked AMD Athlon FX-60 in every test. But some of us took the staggeringly impressive results with a substantial pinch of salt. After all, they were produced in strict Intel-controlled conditions with who-knows-what optimisations present. If you've not done so already, you might want to take a peek here at those numbers.

hey, give me 50 billion dollars and 3 yrs time (1.5 @ 65nm) and I can do this too. *yawn* Strip away the cache and I'll do a double yawn (and laugh). Impressive numbers, but still a lackluster company none-the-less. |

Your at it again The_GURU? Man, it must really burn your britches that Intel is back on top again. It just strikes me funny that someone is so bias that they put down anything thats potentally good/better/awesome. I must resist, must resist, resist, resist, FAN BOY!!!...ahhh....darn...I just couldn't let it slide. LOL. |

I'm not really putting the chip down, just the company. They have a well known track record of being douche bags and sucking in general. That counts to me. Same reason I don't shop at walmart (aka *****-everything-over-mart). Gonna be on top for what, 4 months? AMD has been completely on top for 3 yrs and a lot on top in 2001-2002. That alone is such an embarassment, Intel should be ashamed to announce that they can finally beat 3 yr old chips. Wow, what an accomplishment. Looks even worse when you compare that to what AMD has achieved in any given yr, let alone the last 5 total. I think I'll go blow my load over Intel now. *rolls eyes* Write this down for the record: I am an AMD fanboy and proud of it. Is it bias if I tell the truth? Didn't think so. It just means I'm a "hater" (proud of that too) I will put anything down that isn't worth a shit as a whole. If you still don't agree with what I say, then, by all means come meet me (UMSL campus). We can have AMD sponsor me and Intel can sponsor you in an UFC fight. Let that be the decider of the CPU crown :P |

Nice. I dont care if its AMD or Intel. They are both good companies and I will buy whatever is best right now. I dont remember when Intel ever screwed customers over badly. There are much, much... much, much, much worse examples for such companies. Like Sony, Blizzard, Valve, Microsoft, Electronic Arts, energy companies, etc etc. |
