The Intel® Processor Identification Utility was developed by Intel Corporation to identify the processor inside a system, assuring the processor contains intended technologies and is operating at the tested and rated frequency intended by Intel Corporation.
There are currently two utilities that can help identify your Intel® processor: the Intel Processor Identification Utility and the Intel Processor Frequency ID Utility.
The Intel® Processor Identification Utility is designed to identify the new generation of processors, and processors going forward.
The Intel® Processor Frequency ID Utility will remain available to identify Intel® processors manufactured prior to the introduction of the Intel® Pentium 4 processor
