Intel quietly adds DRM to its new chips, piraters lose

Posted by: Newsfactory on: 06/02/2005 03:15 PM [ Print | 8 comment(s) ] · 1854 views

Intel has initiated a perfect move against copyright violators/piraters by adding DRM in its new motherboard chipsets. This presents a great leap forward towards eliminating copyright infringement because it is implemented in hardware rather than software making it NEARLY impossible to remove this feature.

It's Intel - would you expect anything more if you owned an Intel CPU?

Ahahahaha suckers...

Anyone remembers the great, amazing, groundbreaking "P3 Serial #", and how users/programmers reacted by disabling/blocking every single attempt to read/use it ?!?

Heh, here we go again :) Way to go Intel.

This is different. Expect really soon a announcement by AMD that they will also include DRM protection in their next CPUs. It's inevitable.

We will have to live with it

Following on from what Nemo says, then expect to see BIOS manufacturers including DRM disable option.
