How to enable ATI's MSTAA in the beta 6.10s

Posted by: Newsfactory on: 10/20/2006 04:50 PM [ Print | 2 comment(s) ] · 1769 views

As you may or may not have heard, ATi is going to be offering a new AA mode coming up soon for single ATi cards. No clue exactly what is/isn't supported yet as they haven't even really announced what it is yet, but rumor has it to be a MSTAA mode (alpha to coverage). And since tEd over at Beyond3D once again figured out how to hack the beta Catalyst 6.10 set to get it working I figure it's ok to mention it.

According to tEd you do it the same way you enabled TAA, but replace ASTT with EATM.

guys take the 6.9 or 6.10 version ATi driver and install ATi Tray Tools (ATT)

Then just go to the top of 3D settings in ATT and you should see Adaptive Antialiasing

That's exactly the same thing without having to mess with you registry plus you have the choice of 2 adaptive modes

I use it with an ATi x800XT PCie, if you have a modern ATi card, just try it

I just saw in ATi control center you can activate it too

Don't know if that's normal but the registry changes they were speaking about were already present in my registry

So I assume they are activated by ATT

Or this 'new AA mode' is something very similar

If somebody knows more about it let me know
