With Maxtor DiamondMax relegated to the value line, hardware enthusiast and gamers are basically left with only three options when they're shopping for a new hard drive: Seagate, Western Digital and Hitachi GST.
We've recently spent some quality time with two Hitachi Deskstar 7K160 drives, a SATA II drive from Hitachi GST. Needless to say, we put it to the rounds to see whether or not new hard drives offer improvements for the demanding gamers..
