HDR in the ATI-Crytek Demo, Not Only For Nv

Posted by: Newsfactory on: 12/03/2004 11:21 PM [ Print | 5 comment(s) ] · 2965 views

Just spotted this bit of Info posted over at Beyond3D's Forum by Apple740.

Now Ati is "in bed" with Crytek we (X800 users) finally can see HDR in the Cryengine demo, why not in Farcry itself?

Maybe it's just me, but after playing around with HDR in FarCry a short while, I disabled it again. While the effect was interesting on my GF6800GT, it didn't add to the gaming experience....

why not in Farcry itself?

cuz there is no hardware blending in X800.
do you realize the huge difference between game and demo?

blame ATI not Crytek.

This could very well be HDR, but I wish people would stop confusing blooming with it. HDR helps a lot more than making blooms wash out less color.
