Hopefully they keep that POS on the xbox instead of trying another crappy PC port. |

dlolos: Obviously you've never sat down and really played the xbox, have you? Halo is one of my favorite FPS games outside of Doom and Duke Nukem because of the story, the originality, and the little tidbits of humor involved in the game. Of course, many people depreciate it because it's not a fast paced first person shooter (i.e. it's not run and gun and jump around like fleas shooting everything that moves). It is slowed down a little bit, and it is a bit linear. If people don't like this one, though, they probably won't like Doom 3. I like it, however, and look forward to Halo 2. |

I have beat the game on Xbox thanks to my friend who actually bought it. I have no complaints about Halo as a game itself. My bief is will it come out on PC? Cause I know the answer is going to be 2years after it hits Xbox. While the controls for Halo on Xbox is great it's just that it should be for PC. Any 3D shooter should be on PC. No matter how good the controls are or how great LIVE works the PC controls are just better and you can play online for free. Sorry I want CXBX asap before Halo 2 is released for Xbox. Cause you know Xbox = PC with custom OS. |

I'm a die-hard PC shooter fan, but Halo really was a good game. I think the whole "Best game of all time" thing is insane, but it was at the very least an excellent game to play through in solo and co-op mode. I think it got so much attention because it's still so much easier to play games on a console and good 3D shooters are still kind of rare on consoles. You just plug in the controllers and turn it on. No buying new hardware every year, no configuring driver and details, no having to locate what sever your friends are on, etc. You just pop in the game, turn it on, and plug in some controllers. Even the multiple TV's and X-Boxes set-up is insanely easy to do. That simplicity combined with an excellent game have made Halo what it is. Both Halo and Goldeneye would be considered "good but not earth shattering" on a PC, but because they were console games they got a lot of attention. What's always bugged me is that for years I wished game devs for the PC would make shooters operate using 2 joysticks for movment and aiming and I finally gave up and learned to use the keyboard and mouse. Not even 4 years later, shooters for the X-Box and PS2 are using the scheme I'd hoped for Oh yeah - Halo 2 looks terrific |

Shame the levels were so badly designed they had white arrows on the floors so you could find your way out. |

yea i didnt like the halo storey. there wasnt much to it really - and what there was was ripped off of the books 'Ringworld' the levels was way to repetive (especially after the flood) and then you had to do the excact same levels again - just in reverse. sucky |

If using a PC for games is too hard for you then stick to consoles. You see the great thing about PC 3D shooters is that you can configure your PC anyway you like. How many mods you see for Xbox 3D shooters? If your technical skills are at best setting up a home entertainment center then a Xbox would be for you but if you're like me who downloads hacked drivers trying to get the most for your gaming needs plus loves configuring settings and getting just right so that frag kill is all to easy. |

I totally agree with you - I'm a die hard tuner myself, but I'm just speaking for about 75% of the population that would rather just plug it in and have it work the way the creator intended every time. I'm running a self-built OC'd P4 3.2 with a 9800 Pro and I prefer it to any console out there, EASILY. At the same time, I appreicate the ease and consistency of console games. Halo is a good game even compared to the best PC shooters. The single player game is on par with Half-Life and the Unreal non-tournament games. The co-op is the best I've seen to date on any platform. I wish the PC port wasn't such a system hog (and so LATE) so more people would give it a chance. Halo on the X-Box plays like a top-notch PC shooter, and doesn't need the puchase of a $300 video card or even a new system to run properly. That in itself is something I still prefer PC shooters in general, but that takes nothing away from what a good game Halo is. |

If you want something that requires two joysticks, try Red Factor 1 and 2 on the PS2. Personally I found the movement and aiming confusing, but hey u might like it. Dunno what the X Bot pad is like thou as I don't have one, but if that has 2, give RF a go on that |

I agree, I got lost a few times like, on the alien ship where all the corridores are similar and especially on the swamp / flood containment level (just before they're released), I was going around in circles, some parts just weren't obvious enough, limit graphics I guess, and some were over obvious. |
