Half-Life 2: Valve Continues to Leak

This just in from Fragmaster at PlanetHalfLlife.com.

Well, it appears that this "Anonymous Leaker" character wasn't bluffing, because now he's apparently released something that lets you play Half-Life and Counter-Strike using Half-Life 2's source engine. And he's also supposedly released an outdated build of Counter-Strike: Condition Zero (it's going gold Friday, see yesterday's story) and/or possibly something that deals with Counter-Strike 2. We really don't care to know the details, and we can't exactly confirm this because we refuse to download these releases ourselves. And we of course strongly suggest you don't download any of this stolen material either.

Valve should put up a reward to whoever leads them to him... How about a copy of HL2 and a ATI 9800 pro!!! Im sure someone would help them out for that!

Whats the point? Because Valve brought it on themselves. They set the release date for sept 30th when it wasnt anywhere near completion.

Dont download the beta if you dont want to, simple as that.

Whats the use of making games if you cant make the money worth while? Just imagine the software, games, and apps if there were no hackers or pirates. Its hard enough to take a chance, but to try to protect your software so you can make money is near impossible. Just think, there may not be a half life 3. Congradulations annominous hacker.

I understand your point but its not fair for poeple to work on a project for 4-5 years for it to only get stolen before its even done. I want to be a game designer/programmer and thats what i am finishing at school right now but at the rate its going i don't have much of a future with it, do I?. All I am saying is why can't hackers wait until the game is released then obviously it will be pirated, thats expected. It just ruins games, it gives people bad impressions cause they're not at a stage that the developers want you to see. (ie Doom3 beta/leak was terrible)

I just want a few things to be explained by valve and/or Mr.Hacker Himself

First: What do they mean by stolen? The hacker took software right? Did he actually break in and take the whole damn PC. Or did he format the drive after taking the stuff?

2nd: So many programmers/ppl working on this game. They had it on one machine only? No backup on DVD/CDs /Server etc?

3rd: The game is postponed till mar/apri 04, because of 32megs of data being cut and pasted by a hacker. 7-8 months delay for this. I know it may be the crucial part, but seriously they didn't have it stored anywhere else?

I think its a coverup of some sort by .........
