Half-Life 2 Pre-Load, Phase Two?

Posted by: Newsfactory on: 09/03/2004 03:51 AM [ Print | 5 comment(s) ] · 3562 views

I just fired up Steam on another daily check to see if HL2 might have something interesting up with it, and happened to catch that it's pre-loading again for HL2 like a mofo!

I had over a Gig already, the full pre-load I had thought as I've been doing this a couple of times a day....but now I'm sucking down a solid Mb/s and it's saying it's only 52% done?

Developing, but you folks pre-loaded might just want to re-pre-load up again before this news spreads and all the servers are filled up.

The complete story over at Elite Bastards as it develops.

I AM SOOOO FREAKING HYPED ABOUT THIS GAME!!!!!!!! :D

Nothing fanboyish, I was hyped for Doom3 too...I'm just more hyped for this one.

HL is still about the best gameplay experience I've ever had, I gots big expectations for HL2!

Ditto. And unlike Doom we'll be able to see the wonderful graphics without a flashlight!

Yea, for its time Half Life was a great game. My only concern is that the character movement will be the same in Half Life 2. I really didn't like ice-skating everywhere and I don't think I could put up with it for another 20 hours or so.

Ice skating? I don't really recall any issues with movement in the original, although I honestly haven't played the single player in about 2 years. What was poor about it?

...since my expectations are so high, but I would love to be proved wrong again just like I was about Doom3. :)
