Goodbye Windows 98: We Will Miss You?

Now, I am first to agree with Microsoft for putting this very old and tired version Windows to bed once and for all. Unfortunately, there is that lingering misunderstanding by some people at Microsoft that most people have dropped the old OS a long time ago and therefore have moved happily on to XP. And what makes this worse is the fact that Microsoft hasn't done a great job of communicating why the Windows 98 user should upgrade in the first place. Based on these facts, I find it hard to believe that any large scale migration to a newer OS has actually taken place.
