A week ago we raised some concerns over the quality of images produced by the Geforce 6800 Ultra in 3Dmark03. We forwarded a note of our concerns to Futuremark and Nvidia, Futuremark have today provided us with a response.

I seriously do not understand what the problem is here. As far back as I can remember, it has always been shown that Nvidia lacked image quality when compared to ATI. This is nothing new and has little to do with making the NV3x 'perform better'. We've always seen this, even back during the Geforce 2/Radeon 7x00 days. This was also brought up when comparing the Geforce 3 to Radeon 8500 cards. I don't know why everyone seems to have a problem with it just now, it's very old news. If you don't like it, then don't buy it. Quit your damn arguing. Most of you couldn't afford these cards at this point anyway. |

And for the first time in around a year, they are RIGHT! This was a senseless article (DH 3dmark I mean). |

Wrong. This time, most, except the most hardcore ATI fanboys, recognize that DH article as genuine. It's really lame. Even the R3x0 image was different from the reference rasterizer but they did no mention at all of that....not objective. And NV40's architecture is different enough to question how the isotropic filtering is being implemented so early. |
