FreeRAM XP Pro is a freeware application designed to defragment and free up your system's RAM (Random Access Memory). As a result, system performance, response time, and stability increase. FreeRAM XP Pro uses a minimal amount of memory, system resources, and CPU time, thus making it fast and efficient.

I can't believe people still use utilities like this. THEY ARE TOTAL B.S.!

Defragmenting? Please, you notice how better motheboards have an option for "Memory Bank Interleave" ? This option fragments your data to spread it out over the physical chip to INCREASE performance.

Defragmented ram will only help (possibly) for large sequential reads (not the most common case) and will slow you down the rest of the time. (not to mention the overhead incurred by the defragging process)

And for freeing up system RAM? If you have a decent amount (256+) then this also decreases pefromance by making your system read from the HD to get the info instead of getting it cached from RAM (many times faster).

They also claim "increased stability." Anyone one who has done some programming knows that moving memory is one of the largest sources of errors, program crashes, and memory leaks.

Spending 30$ on more RAM will be light years ahead of this.

Good points! And they have the nerve to state "stability increase"?! Hmmm... Most often this type of marginal-to-no-useful-improvement utility only introduces INstability! lol
