The guy's at VR-Zone have snagged the latest Forceware Driver.
NVIDIA has a new driver for the GeForce 6800 series -- version 61.11. Compared to the 60.72 driver, this new driver features:
Update: If you haven't noticed? the Forceware 61.11 drivers are out! just click Read More and look in the comments
Around 5% boost in Aquamark Around 5% boost in X2 performance Around 5% boost in Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness performance Around 10% boost to Call of Duty performance Over 20% improvement in Far Cry performance (fixed a z cull bug)

These are, however, not officially out. At least, they are not yet available on nVidia's site. |

I'd like to know if the performance increase applies to nV3X hardware or if is nV4X specific. |

I just found out this... Known 61.11 driver bugs: 117597 [TWIMTBP]NV40,WinXP: Corruption when trying to take a screenshot with AA enabeld in Far Cry. 117561 [TWIMTBP]NV38/40,WinXP: Corruption of some weapons in Far Cry. 117474 [TWIMTBP]NV40,WinXP: Fog broke in Far Cry. 113476 NV38/40-WinXP: Lighting/shadow problem in FarCry. 117575 [TWIMTBP] NV40/38: Banding visible from wall in FarCry. ...so I'd take the boosts with a grain of salt |

More bugs introduced than fixed in FarCry... Can anyone say hacked benchmark set in the hope that reviewers will use them for head to head comparisons just in time for the X800 release tomorrow...? |

The community has been aware of those bugs for quite some time. The reason they're on that list is so the community knows that Nvidia is going to focus on fixing those bugs in the next driver release. |

Do you really thing that any reviewer will be able to rewrite their X800 reviews in only 12 hours until the X800 is revealed for real? Think again |

What is that "Far Cry" anyhoo that seems to not be programmed correctly? LOL Anyway, 61.11 working well on an old GF2-GTS. |

Reviewers have had this set for about a week. How do you think it got leaked...? The upside is that JC can now dump the NV3x path from D3. Nvidia's improved shader optimizer does the work for him... |
