First Official Nvidia OMEGA Drivers Released!

Posted by: [NT] on: 07/06/2002 08:47 PM [ Print | 1 comment(s) ] · 3953 views

The first Official release (non beta) of the Nvidia Omega drivers is out. You won't belive the kind of quality they will provide. They where made with QUALITY in mind, not speed so they will be slightly slower then Nvidia originals.

Click on Read More for more info and download.

"These drivers where made as an "alternative" to anisotropic filtering, since enabling aniso would cause a MAJOR drop in performance, but with these drivers you WILL HAVE the same effect of aniso, but without the speed penalty. Also, the textures look A LOT better when FSAA is enabled, not blurred like before."

Warning! Install these drivers only @ your own risk!

You can grab the from Omega's Corner.

I just got done benching the 98se set and am starting to throw some games at 'em. So far I lost 150 points in 3dm2k1se (5866->5712), but the test looked a whole lot sharper when it ran. DroneZ benched a little higher, but that was more of a v-sync thing.

GTA3 looks incredibly nice with these for me and seems to run a bit smoother, (although fraps doesn't seem to see any change either way), and SoF2 is finally starting to look like SoF to me again. (It just seemed blurry before, now it's crisp! :D )

Thanks again Omegadrive, these is sweet! Now if'n you'd only have a set based on the 29.80s...... ;)
