Firefox Slowdown Issues

I've recently noticed that my Firefox 1.5 browser has been sporadically slow and less responsive. This is particularly noticeable on various forums, and places where java script  has been used. I decided to do a complete uninstall, thorough cleanout and reinstall of Firefox 1.5, and retweaked it, and now Firefox is back to being fast and responsive.
