Myth (Definition) - A fiction or half-truth, especially one that forms part of an ideology. While Firefox is a decent Web Browser, there are numerous Myths floating around the Internet regarding it. Hopefully this site will debunk some of these.
We have all seen these banners before or heard people say "Firefox is Faster, Firefox has Lower Requirements, Firefox is Secure, Firefox defends me from all Spyware, etc." How misleading is it? Read on.

Do you guys actually read the links you post? They have all been refuted each and everytime. Too bad you guys are completely incapable of coming up with anything on your own. You are forced to recycled the same arguments I tore apart months ago. |

Don't sweat the loss of market share. Once people learn the truth it will probably get worse. |

Then it's quite clearly yourself. Just look around you, you pompous arrogant fool. You look nothing more than an Anti Firefox kiddie. No. You ARE nothing more than a pathetic, Anti Firefox kiddie. I wonder what your host, Comcast, would make of many complaints towards your site ? |

Guys, seriously please stop feeding the troll. "Mastertech" is actually loving all the hype and publicity his (at best mediocre) website is receiving. Remember, he doesn't produce guides to educate people, he is doing it to get ad clicks and referrals. The more you feed this unpopular Internet troll, the more he relishes the attention. Any sane web author would have got the hint by now, but not "Mastertech", so clearly he has some other agenda. His "Firefox Myths" article has a "Get Firefox with Google Toolbar" ad banner at the very top - talk about hypocrisy! I thought there was hope for him when he published what might be an actual, useful, interesting document with his "Windows Easter Eggs" article. But that was an aberration, and likely didn't get him much traffic, so he is well and truly flogging the myth bandwagon for all it's worth. Please leave him to promote his garbage without giving him additional attention by responding to him - he clearly doesn't comprehend the criticisms. |

For someone with a competing guide to come on here and bash me for only making this for money is the lowest form of jealousy I can imagine. How many time must you attempt to discredit my guides? I don't comment about yours. I don't go out of my way to discredit yours. How many time have you had to make corrections to your Guides based on inaccurate information you read from my Myths guides? Anyone can check the dates of the additions to my Myths guides and you subsequent changes to yours afterwards. Don't be so jealous I corrected you numerous times. And sure as hell don't come here and post bullshit about my "intentions" which has always been to inform. Anyone with half a brain would not try to make money off the community that uses adblock. Funny how you having ads on every page is somehow different from me. Get a life and go back to correcting your guides. |

What complaints? That the Firefox Fanboys don't approve of being exposed? Go back to your conspiracy theories. Since the truth is too much for you. |

So now all the Firefox fanboys = everybody on the face of the planet? Good math skills you got there. Please bring some facts to the table and don't be afraid of the truth. |

Go spread your FUD elsewhere, I've read your site and looked at your resouces. It is irrelevant to me. I am not one of those people that believe Firefox is the end all be all, however it works and works very well and the enhancements though its extensions save me an immeasurable amount of time. I have used Netscape 2,3 & 4, IE 3,4,5,6 and now 7 beta, Mozilla since its 0.4 version, Seamonkey, Opera and Firefox since its inception. At this current time Firefox does the best job for me at work and home. |

OMG I can't believe you're actually saying that tweakguides makes corrections based on your hokey site!!!!! Tweakguides is known for good information and your known for spreading disinformation anywhere you can get away with it. Like Persian Immortal said, you are only in this to make money and you'll never own up to it because that would show how much of a fraud you are and people would stop clicking your crap. If you really are so into telling the truth, I challenge you to take the ads off your site. If you don't, we really know what you are. |

For the record, I am not complaining that you have ads on your site. I have Google ads on TweakGuides.com. Rather I am suggesting that it is hypocritical to include the "Get Firefox with Google Toolbar" banner on a site which says that Firefox is not worth getting. This particular Google ad is one which you can individually opt to include or remove from your site while still retaining the other Google ads. On my site, even though I have a Firefox Tweak Guide which indirectly promotes Firefox, I have never ever included this banner ad anywhere on my site precisely to avoid a conflict of interest: If users of my Firefox Tweak Guide click the 'Get Firefox' button on page 3 of my guide, I don't get a single cent from it. The reason I am "trashing" your guide is because quite frankly I am sick of your thinly veiled attempts at sensationalism. You started out with what was arguably a reasonable look at myths and non-functional tweaks in your original XP myths guide, and then sensing you had a hit on your hands, you decided to go nuts and instead of providing useful tips or tweaks to go with these myths, now all you do is provide sensationalist misleading information as personified by your Firefox Myths article. Yes, Firefox is not a perfect browser. Yes, Firefox fanboys are annoying. But your claims go far beyond this, in a scare campaign designed more to defame Firefox than to inform users. By the way, I notice you just joined the TweakGuides Forums, and I have immediately banned your user account. I do not want a professional troll on my forums as they are not designed for such a purpose. I tried having an open conversation with you earlier last year about the Prefetching feature in Windows, and your abusiveness, obtuseness and refusal to accept any evidence other than your own demonstrated to me loud and clear that you're not interested in facts or discussions. If you want to regain your reputation, try producing more guides like the Windows Easter Eggs one, or even your XP Myths article, but minus the bogus sensationalist misleading alarmist claims. Then people will read your guides and focus on what they have to offer, rather than your abrasive personality and insistance on falsifying or exaggerating claims to support an agenda. |

His Windows XP Tweak Guide has had numerous corrections after my XP Myths guide was released and after similiar revisions. It proved that tweaks he included in his guide were myths. You obviously haven't followed it much. He has a habit of including useless tweaking information like he continues with his bogus prefetch information in his guides. Davros you are a complete fool. Having ads on a site is completely normal. If you can't deal with it maybe you should stop visiting warp2search. I challenge you to get a clue. |

I didn't challenge you to whether your site was completely normal or not, I challenged you to take the ads down. If you are really so true in your intentions to spread "the truth", than simply take your ads off. It's not that hard to do. If you aren't in it for the money than taking the ads down shouldn't be a problem. If you are than you'll likely continue to make excuses and and call me names. |

I never say anywhere NOT to get Firefox. You and every other fanboy implies that. Is Firefox what I recommend? No, do I care if you use it nope. That is the point. I don't care what you use. Are you guys this weak minded or is the truth so shocking that you have actually questioned why you are using Firefox. I think I am begining to see the problem here. I don't tell anyone anywhere NOT to use Firefox. The difference between you and me, is I don't care if people use Firefox and get it from some banner, I simply don't recommend it. You have no idea why I made the guide. I made it because I was tired of the misleading information people were receiving in a deceptive way about it. I've used it, it is a decent web browser, it has some nice features but there is way to much misinformation about it. You "thinking" it is sensational is YOUR problem. But nothing is misleading. It is all sourced. Anyone can make up their own minds. Scare campaign my ass more like a brutally honest campaign. I say the tough things others are afraid to say. Don't want to hear it, then don't read it. This "Professional Internet Troll" nonsense is such propaganda. It is simply another attempt to discredit all the facts on the Firefox Myths page. As for our conversation about Prefetching, you can't have one if you don't understand how it works. I recommend Mark Russinovich's book WinInternals. My reputation is based on the factual accuracy of the information I provide not by people's "opinions" of me. |

No one dictates to me what I put on page ever. Now that we are perfectly clear, you can believe what you want. It sure hasn't stopped you so far. I'm not going to take my ads off my page any more than Persian will on his or the owner of warp2search will on his. The content is free, if you don't like it don't read it but don't pretend to know my intentions or imply anything. |

The difference is that Persian and the owner of Warp2search aren't on some kind of truth crusade as you claim to be. There's no dictating going on here, I simply challenged you to show your sincerity by removing your ads. |
