Firefox Fanboys Regroup to Spam More

Posted by: Newsfactory on: 12/02/2005 05:31 PM [ Print | 12 comment(s) ] · 2274 views

Guess what time of year it is? Firefox Spam Time! - Video Spam that is. "My Lord, IE still holds Market Dominance!" cries the Fanboy. The Emperor responds, "Yes young Foxer, on my word unleash more Spam!". "Yes my lord, we will commence Spamming.....I mean "Spreading" Firefox."

"Firefox 1.5 would be backed by a "big marketing push" that will include a community marketing campaign that will encourage Firefox fans to tell the world about their favorite browser by publishing home-made videos on a Mozilla Web site. You will have real people telling you about Firefox's features, what's cool and great" - Christopher Beard

"Popular Technology" is trying to be like Fox News. They take certain facts & spin it to suit their own end.
Anybody remember the nonsense Fox News posted up about how 1 state was switching to the OpenDocument Format (Previously Microsoft Office formats) which was anti-competitive & would be highly expensive? Glossing over the fact that the Microsoft licences were almost 10 times as expensive & uses a proprietary format. Thats what Popular Technolgy is like.

Take their point on security & look at the Secunia website;
Opera 8 - "Currently, 1 out of 11 Secunia advisories, are marked as "Unpatched" in the Secunia database."
Firefox - "Currently, 2 out of 25 Secunia advisories, are marked as "Unpatched" in the Secunia database."
IE 6 - "Currently, 21 out of 89 Secunia advisories, are marked as "Unpatched" in the Secunia database."

Which browsers would you feel more secure with?

Sorry, thats no technology or news site, its a blog, I dont trust news from Blogs, never did, never will. In some cases, they break great stories, but in general they are full of garbage. Of course, there are millions of them, so that goes without saying I guess. This place has not posted a news story in over 2 weeks before this. To give them press is pointless.

To be fair this is flagged as an Editorial and not a news item. However 'Popular Technology' is going along the lines of posting lowest common denominator blog rubbish with sensationalized information, and I don't know why Warp2search gives them any airtime.

I can see how non-Firefox users find it annoying when Firefox fanboys post constant barrages of "firefox rox" on forums and websites, but Firefox is definitely a good product at the moment, and deserves the attention in many ways.

Editorial --> a newspaper or magazine article that gives the opinions of the editors or publishers; also : an expression of opinion that resembles such an article

That guy is writing his opinion for the sake of spreading "his" opinion to as many people as possible. Sounds familiar?

No Mastertech, it is you who is clueless, and also obviously quite insecure of themselves as verified by repeated attacks on everyone who posts anything counter to your 'opinions' here.

Yes, it is an editorial. Yes, it is opinion. And just like assholes, everyone has an opinion. But does warp2search really need to voice the opinions of this idiot over at popular technology?

Just like the previous 'CCleaner Cripples Windows', this latest piece of tripe is clearly aimed at generating hype where there is none. Much like your incredible work which concentrates on 'busting' many a harmless tweak instead of actually coming up with new ones.

Oh, and isn't it about time OptimizeXP or one of your other masterpieces 'updated' to Version 1.8.2.4.1 or something because you changed a couple of words?

Persian you are only mad because you posted useless tweaks in your guide that are BS. It is understandable for you to feel this way being proven wrong.

All the guides are updated anytime a significant change is made. You can check the change logs like anyone else can. An update has never been posted for a change of a few words and never will be. There is no need to constantly attack the guides to make yourself feel better.

The CCleaner article was 100% right on, you are just too clueless or ignorant to realize it.

I think I'll just get on with the job of writing my guides insteading of arguing with an assclown such as yourself.

I'll leave you to ride the mythbusting hype wagon wherever it may take you.

Thankfully websites are made or broken by their readers, not by the amount of useless updates and hype they generate in their desparate struggle for attracting traffic.

Take care :)

Just make sure when you write them you do 5 minutes of research and don't include useless information as you have in the passed. Such as you lack of total knowledge on how Windows Prefetching works.

Websites are made by the accuracy of the information and updated as necessary. Your consistent attacks on the Guides only proves how low you will go. Don't be jealous and try not to be consistently wrong. Then you will not be so embarrased every time you are proven wrong.
