Explaining DDR Memory Bandwidth

With all things equal, a stick of DDR memory capable of running 2-2-2-5 memory timings will make the computer operating experience seem faster than a DIMM which can only run at 3-4-4-8. This is because of the fact that when the memory receives an instruction, retrieves the data, and sends it back out in less time.

3-4-4-8 could possibly be faster than 2-2-2-5.

Nforce boards need a high Tras, maybe others do as well.

And timings make so little of a difference.

What a confusing article. It feels like half of it is missing- despite having some idea of what all these terms mean, I couldn't follow what the writer was talking about.

i'm running erm.. APACER ddr and its using 2-2-2-11 (or maybe its 8 i CBA to boot the bios to check) but i'm sure i' m running 2-2-2.
and sisoft showed a diff.. though i take most benches with a grain of salt as a rule.
i could use memtest.. but thats another cba :)
