ID software has today launched the new Resurrection of Evil expansion pack for Doom 3.
The expansion picks up about two years after the end of DOOM 3. The UAC has covered up everything that happened on Mars (blaming it on a reactor malfunction), cancelled all operations and cleared out.

So since it leaked yesterday they release it about 5 days ahead of schedule, that's actually pretty brilliant! I heard the leak was because some brick & mortar stores jumped the gun when they got the pre-shipment in and put them right up on the shelves before waiting for Friday. Someone bought it, copied it, set it loose in the wild. I like the grabber, but it took me some getting used to. Once I figured out that to throw things you just let go of the mouse it got a lot easier/better. I like it better than D3, if you liked D3 at all you're going to love this one. |

...they'll hype this too and make bucket loads of money off it. This one really is better than D3, it's kind of what I was hoping D3 would be. The inclusion of more lights powered by portable generators all over helps, as does the grabber which adds a whole lot more fun. You can grab them floaty-heads out of mid-air and just bang 'em into the wall until they die....BLISS! |

I even liked the original Doom 3, and it sounds like this extension might even beat HL2 in my list |

not as scary, and you can tell the models they made for it are lower poly. grabber is cool though. |

More of the same. Better than the normal Doom3, but still way too dark for my tastes. I don't like playing an entire game that hurts my eyes and makes me keep looking for a setting to make the game brighter. The action is a little faster and smoother but I still don't think it holds a candle to HL2. The grabber is nice and I like the implimentation, but it's pretty clear that they're taking a page from HL's book. Yes, I know the early demos of D3 had something similar, but I think the finished version fells a little borrowed. If you liked D3, you'll like it too. If you didn't, this won't win you over either. |

Unfortunately the only people who "like" Doom 3 are the same sort of people that like the film Van Helsing, aka morons. How long must we wait before a good FPS game for the PC is released again. & don't say Half-Life 2 either. |

I'll admid I don't like Doom 3...but I've never met anyone who didn't care for HL2. What are you waiting for? We've gotten games like FarCry, Painkiller, & Halo 2 this year. What more are you wanting? |

Youve met one now. I have to admit that I dont believe you didnt meet anyone yet. I know lots of them. I played HL2. Graphics where overhyped, maps were low poly, low texture resolution and only FOOLED high detail. "Puzzles" where mostly idiotic jump and run stuff for 5 year old kiddies and to obviously show what their also overhyped physics can do. Story was blatantly stupid, but I bet very loved by all those conspiracy theorists. Nothing else. Oh yeah, and there is also Steam (that includes the registration and ever lasting unlock process), which is reason enough to not like that game. Flame away! |

You're the first I've met, but to each his own. I don't care if it 'fooled' high detail all day. It looks better than any other FPS out there. Don't EVEN say Doom 3 either. I'll admit the puzzles were weak, but then again...name an FPS in which they aren't. You might have points, but what are you comparing it with? Which game looks better? FarCry is the only one that even comes close. Better puzzles? It's an FPS, not Maniac Mansion. What game does them better? I'll admit the story was shaky...but again...FPS. Name a better one. I don't like Steam though...you're right about that |
