"Ultra is the setting that will be most useful in ATI and NVIDIA's next generation parts that will run on 512MB, High is the setting of choice for high end cards that have 256MB of ram, Medium is for mid-ranged cards running on 128MB"

That's such bullshit.. The difference is at most two FPS on a 9800pro 128MB between Ultra and High, the difference between Low and Ultra is less than 6 FPS! There isnt any need to play in Medium or High if you have a 9800pro or GF5900 (i guess, havent tried it). I used the doom3 timedeo on two computers.. Here are the results from one of them (the comp was AMD):

1024x768.

Timedemo demo1

42 FPS Ultra
44 FPS High
45 FPS Medium

CPU P4 2.6GHz@3.25GHz
RAM:2x512MB Samsung PC-400 DDR (Dual)
Mobo: Abit IS7-E
GFX:Club3D 9800PRO@398/354MHz
Audio:Soundtrack Audio DSP24

The results from the AMD XP3000+ was similar but around 2 FPS better on all tests.

So i seriously dont know what all the upgrade fuss is about, all your really need for this game to look amazing is a FX 5700 Ultra minimum to run at High Quality / 1024x768 and to play well above 30fps. Im going to try 2x AA.

yes, i agree. The settings are a bit old fashioned. I must admit i was hoping for a bit more in the way of settings to adjust. Runs fine on my 9800xt on max with TA switched on. amd 51-fx 1024mb 3200,sk8v,uan drivers
