One of the most favoured software companies releases a game it has been working on for years, the prodigal son of the original reason why a LOT of people bought and got into pc`s (doom). Yes i think thats some of the biggest news for ages. IM buying it cos i reckon its another one of those games you just buy no matter what, like hl1, hl2 and wolfenstien. Now where is that leaked copy.

#55575 Posted on: 08/01/2004 08:20 PM it's because doom3 gets huge coverage in most aspects, not because its the greatest game ever. personally i dont think it will work particularly food for me, cause i need story, a department ID never really did good in. we arent posting leak news for every game, cause every game isnt as anticipated as doom3. and as for people not wanting to read this news on w2s... it's not that hard to just ignore it and skip to other news... it's not like you've signed a contract that says you ahve to read each and every post closely and thoroughly.

Everyone knows that Doom 3 will be leaked. And 98% of W2S users are prolly smart enough to have enough technical knowledge of how the warez scene functions and even don't need the 'clues' given by dig on how to find this leak (@mg I heard it's c@ll3d r3l@aded!). Everyone that visits this site knows that you could just open isonews and figure this out. I mean posting an article about a leaked game is going to do more worse than good. You guys already have posted 10+ Doom 3 articles in a spawn of a month those have surely attracted more than enough attention. You don't see neowin posting leak articles. And I think even by posting news of "we here at W2S feel like you should buy the game" will only provoke a large number of people to download this game anyway. It's like taunting/dearing people and I think a large amount will dare themselves to download it. (And dig its no secret that you are prolly the biggest warez monkey that visits W2S). Ok, flame away. *dons flame retardant suit*

#55578 Posted on: 08/01/2004 08:47 PM Doom3's release is like a combination of the SuperBowl/WorldSeries/X-mas/Easter and my frigging birthday all wrapped up in one, I can not possibly overstate just how huge D3 will be. Even if it TOTALLY sucks, it is going to forever change the whole gaming landscape and fuel a hardware upgrade rush that is going to bring a TON of newbies into the hardware community too so it'll affect us pretty heavy. It's a big deal, really.

#55585 Posted on: 08/01/2004 11:52 PM Doom 3 is based on "Improved" Quake 3 OpenGL engine nothing is new.. just bit better textures but still same Q3 idea.. i've heard there is bugs with the current ATI OpenGL driver. ( nvidia bribed id software) personally Doom 3 is a waste of cash. its "improved Q3" instead of using the new great DX9 engine.. again the old OpenGL (bribed by nvidia to win the benchmarks against ATI) and the new lame OpenGL textures requires expensive hardware for good gaming experince. its boring.. same stuff.. same engine.. same crap i cant belive ID software spent all these years for this poor product. i will wait for HL2/CS:S (DX9 HQ games running great on the current hardware)

#55586 Posted on: 08/02/2004 12:12 AM HAHA Doom3 is a completely new engine, unlike unreal for example. There is nothing wrong with opengl. In fact it is easier to port to other platforms, unlike DX9. Doom3 is NOT specifically optimized for nVidia cards, it's just that ATI has poor OpenGL drivers.
