Doom 3 Exploit

Just spotted this bit of Info over at Guru 3D's Forum posted by Tidus.
I run #doom3 on the IRC network Gamesurge and something occured yesterday that I thought I'd alert you all of so it doesn't happen to you. A user, posted a link that showed how to play co-op mode. I didn't think anything of it. I went afk for a while to do some work and I came back to a channel going nuts. Apparently this link led to website that claimed you needed to have a special .pak in order to play co-op. People downloaded it and joined this server this kid pasted. Upon joining, their game crashed and when they tried to log back in they got "CD key in use".

ROFLMAO! I bet the 95% of the keys they got are from the RELOADED keygen. .....I'm trully sorry for the other 5% though... CD Key is very easy to get. On the base folder, it's called doomkey. Can be oppened with a Notepad. |

Ummm. Its not uncommon to join a server, crash to desk top try to join again & be logged in that server already & get the CD key in use. Its happened to me a few times in games. Just means that I am still live to the server for a specific amount of time. This could be a legitimate CD key stealing deal, but the generic CD key in use doesn't mean anything unless its like 5 to 10 minutes after the crash if not forever after the crash. This isn't news till there is proof. |

I have read somewhere there's a sort of fake doom3 coop with a trojan in it so be warned |
