Electronic Gaming Monthly is reporting in their latest print issue that Doom3 might be released for Xbox first followed by a later release for the PC and that Microsoft is trying to get exclusive Xbox rights for Quake 4.

This is never likely to happen as Doom 2/Q3 are too popular PC games with a much wider audience on the PC than a console, which most people don't yet have. |

This mag should do a little research before coming out with bs like this. Id code their graphics in opengl. The xbox uses direct3d. Somehow or other, i cant see Carmack being billy g's biatch ... can you! |

I believe that the graphic libraries come with the games cds and are not within the console itself so the console is not necesseraly tied with DirectX, it's just that a custom version of DirectX has been developed, tested and tuned for the console. Also I remember Nvidia saying that they will do provide a OpenGL driver for the console, they had Id Software in mind obviously. |
