DirectX includes DirectDraw, Direct3D, DirectInput, DirectSound, DirectMusic, DirectPlay and DirectShow. The most used API's (Application Programming Interfaces) in computer (PC or console) games include DirectX from Microsoft, OpenGL (Open Graphics Library) from SGI (Silicon Graphics) and Glide from 3dfx Interactive.
