3Dcenter.org has done up a performance comparison of the soon to be released 52.10 Detonator FX drivers: They tested Detonator FX Drivers 45.23 and 51.75 against the 52.10 running on a MSI GeForceFX 5900 using 4 DirectX benchmarks Comanche 4 , UT 2003 Demo, Aquanox 2 , Max Payne and 2 OpenGL benchmarks Serious SAM , Enemy Territory.

Ok well the translation sucks, and although i speak 4 languages german isnt one of them. Anyway, it looks like the 52.10 are faster and according to the shadermark antidetect they arent cheating all that much more. BUT no offense to shadermark, its anti detect feature is easily overcome. The improvement could be due to general DX9 improvements, but that doesnt mean they boost DX9 in a good way!
If the article said any of this , sorry, but i didnt read it properly as i said.

I was replying to your post, shaderboy, not to the news post. All of this continued BS over 'OMG THEY'RE CHEATING LOOK AT THAT!' is just getting old and out of hand.

I still stick by my GF4 Ti4200, combined in my system it takes Halo on quite nicely. Of course it doesn't get 40000FPS or even 120FPS, and of course, it doesn't use PS2.0. But hey, Halo still runs great, and I still have a lot of fun with it.

*I* am a gamer, not someone who constantly pisses and moans over a few frames per second in a game.

Well *I* am a developer and a gamer (whoopie-doo!).
This cheating thing is getting out of hand, buts its not my fault is it, its nvidias. Some of us have to deal with it day in day out.
By the way its got little to do with FPS in my eyes, but it clearly does in nvidias eyes so why dont you have a go at them ??
Your GF4 will play halo ok, because its running only DX8 .
The other thing is as a GF4 owner your not being affected by the cheats much, but FX owners are and they might want to find a good driver or give up totally and get a better DX9 card.
If you find this so boring why bother posting? Could it be that you have a pro nvidia bias ?

Im not paid to have to deal with nvidias crap. We have made the decision to code for pure DX8 and DX9, no mixed paths. Most of our games will use DX8 for the FX. This will cut months out of the developement process and save a lot of money. So im not complaining, but many others in the industry are.
Believe it or not it is possible to comment negatively on the FX without being an ATI fan boy.
Face facts, until nvidias drivers stop reducing image quality this will continue. The New XGI card will likely make it worse for nvidia and for FX owners.

Forget it, now the nvidiots are taking the ' its so boring stop whinging' line. If they only knew how much more there is to come out !
FOR THE NVIDIOTS:
Just so nothing more needs to be said, and to save your boredom, ill condense it all for you.

The FX will NEVER match the Radeon for speed and IQ at the same time, the Det 50,60,70 or 80s wont save you. If you think DOOM3 will save you, wait and see :)
The NV3x will NEVER be a good DX9 part, and neither will the NV40.
Nvidia is about to be 3rd in a 3 horse race.
It gets worse from here on in..

Maybe its because people like you play the odd game here and there, whereas shaderboy and i get paid 6 figures to write those games, deal with the IHVs and try to cope with all the BS nvidia is putting out. You see we have careers, not jobs, that means we dedicate our lifes to this stuff, so this is rather important to us. You might be thankful that people care about their careers as much. Imagine if your doctor, airline pilot or car designer didnt care, you might have a few problems.

Ask them, maybe its because they are a benchmark driver and not a proper release. Nvidia dont send out much to companies not part of TWIMTBP.
I happen to know nvidia couldnt do enough for EA.

I would have though someome who earns 6 figures would be smarter than the type of person who posts flame bait, which is a very lame and childish thing to do. Good bye..

This is good news. Now I hope to see more tests of this kind, and receive a copy of the actual driver.
