Audio

Had problems with applying advanced audio setting within the configuration settings. Received noise while playing DTS 96KHz/24bit and then switching to CLVS or DVS. Audio repeat issues after switching to 6 or more speakers. Audio signals dropping or program hangs when selecting 8 speakers while using ProLogic IIx effect

Video

Could not apply pan, scan and digital zoom function while playing DivX files Combining M2V files which resulted in difficulty in playing the file Capturing frames continuously might result in some frames not being saved Displaying multi-language subtitles in Win98 SE / ME Closed captions not displayed when clone mode settings were applied

Playback

Slow startup while playing H.264 files Jumped to wrong starting point while playing DVD-VR backward/font> Unable to turn off subtitles Subtitles overlapping when displaying dual subtitles A black line appearing while applying CLEV-2 with CLPV on DVD titles Repeat track feature malfunction when playing DVD-Audio files The Express menu displaying titles/chapters incorrectly when playing DVD-VR discs Video displaying incorrect aspect ratio on WMV-HD titles

Improved features

Playback: Allows user to enable secondary subtitle in spite of UOP (user operation prohibit on the DVD title)

New features

Others: Adds Google Toolbar installation during PowerDVD installation

Well thats Cyberling PowerDVD dead, guess WinDVD will take its place now, shame cos i used to like PowerDVD.

PowerDVD is dead since the arrival of version 6

videoLAN.org just works and does not include als those BS features

personally even with it being optional isnt the problem, its the fact they are bundling it with a commercial program, if it were a freeware program, then fine they gotta get money from somewhere, but in a commercial program.. is just so wrong

Yeah...or you can just use ffdshow or the Mega Codec Pack with either WMP10 or Media Player Classic.
Nero also has a decent built-in DVD player.
Personally I haven't found any features in either WinDVD or PowerDVD that you can do with any 'ol generic media player and the right codecs.

Well there is one feature I will be missing - Dolby Headphone.
