Crysis Statement Regarding the Release Date

Posted by: Newsfactory on: 12/04/2006 06:50 PM [ Print | 2 comment(s) ] · 1897 views

There has been a lot of recent talk about Crysis' ship date. I wanted to send out a message to all those who are interested and set the record straight. The game will ship a little later than planned.

I want to assure everyone that Crytek are working as hard as we possibly can to deliver this game to our fans and consumers in the earliest timeframe that meets our high quality threshold. Taking the extra time in the studio is the right decision because it helps us be sure that we can bring you the experience you expect from this new game.

Eh. What game ISN'T delayed these days?
Considering how ambitious this game is and how much of it IS clearly done, this is no big deal at all. Lots of the best games from the last few years were delayed dozens of times. Gears of War? HL2? Halo 2/Halo 3? Neverwinter Nights 1 or 2? Oblivion? UT2K7? Anything Blizzard has ever made?
No big deal at all.
I think the only reason anyone might be a little miffed is because there really aren't any major holiday releases for the PC. We have the G80's available and nothing to run on 'em :)

Yes, smell the coffe! any good game seems to get delayed to build it up to monumental godlike status. its a sorry state of affairs release wise, all the best coders have gone to consoles. The only people smiling are the benchmarking geeks.
