Creative sucks.. if you have a creative card get something else.

Yeah, because the sound card market is thriving with viable alternatives that don't suck away your FPS in games.

Please make a list. There aren't any sound cards that negatively impact performance in games less than an Audigy 2.

Well m-audio revolution 5.1 is good soundcard drivers are working and you have 3 different modes: games/sensaura SRS Circle Surround for music/movies and none/Stereo X2,X3 for music (and all this are working without reboot)(not like terratec crap...) and has own opamp for headphones (and of course own volume control in drivers. Sensaura is same that eax2 (i don't hear difference between eax2 eaxHD eax4 for me they all sound same. There is ofcourse fps hit but with a64 or p4 im sure there i enought juice for little fps drop.

I have both sound cards and m-audio is much better

So what do you consister a negligible drop in FPS? I'd say anything up until 10 frames.

heh, my Hercules Gametheater XP is still going strong in my pc. based on the Chrystal CS4630.
no drop in fps in any games what so ever. and it hasnt had a driver update in.. ages.

fps drops and stutters? only time i seen that is with ACPI based installs, once Standard Pc w/APM is set on install no stutter what so ever.. wish i could say that about Creative cards.

EAX? its never impressed me. in fact, thats also a prime source for slow downs, lockups and crashes.

but, to each their own, everyone likes what they like, and as long as it works for you.. use it :)

Meh, I don't understand you, Creative-haters.
The entire Audigy line supports "EAX4.0" while you're stuck with EAX2.0, no EAX in Doom 3-powered games and lower overall FPS.
