Creative Releases 41.80 Drivers for Win9x/ME/2k/XP!!!

Posted by: [NT] on: 12/23/2002 09:04 PM [ Print | 24 comment(s) ] · 9899 views

Just got word from "anonymous" that Creative Europe has released brand new drivers for their line of NVIDIA Graphics Cards. These latest drivers are of version 41.80 dating back to 27th of November 2002 (11/27/2002).

Their full version is 6.14.1.4180 (win2k/xp) - making them the first DX9 compliant drivers (?) as previous drivers' full versions were 6.13.1.4xxx. The DXDiag app in DirectX 9 also says it supports DDI 9 - whereas 41.09 for example only showed them as supporting DDI 8...

Click on Read More to find out what cards are supported and where to download them ;)

UPDATE: Farge spotted in the 41.80 .zip file that a file called "modes.txt" says: Version 42.00, 12/10/2002 - so could this be the next version to come out? Time will tell...

NVidia.Nv4 = "3D Blaster RIVA TNT" NVidia.Nv5 = "3D Blaster RIVA TNT2/TNT2 Pro" NVidia.NvVanta = "3D Blaster Vanta/Vanta LT" NVidia.NvUltra = "3D Blaster TNT2 Ultra" NVidia.Nv5M64 = "3D Blaster TNT2 M64/M64 Pro" NVidia.Nv10 = "3D Blaster GeForce 256" NVidia.Nv10DDR = "3D Blaster GeForce Pro" NVidia.Nv11 = "3D Blaster GeForce2 MX" NVidia.Nv11DDR = "Creative GeForce2 MX200/MX400" NVidia.Nv15 = "3D Blaster GeForce2 GTS/Pro" NVidia.Nv15DDR = "3D Blaster GeForce2 Ti" NVidia.Nv15BR = "3D Blaster GeForce2 Ultra" NVidia.Nv17.1 = "3D Blaster 4 MX460" NVidia.Nv17.2 = "3D Blaster 4 MX440" NVidia.Nv17.3 = "3D Blaster 4 MX420" NVidia.Nv17.4 = "3D Blaster4 MX440 SE" NVidia.Nv18.2 = "3D Blaster4 MX440 with AGP8X" NVidia.Nv18.3 = "3D Blaster4 MX440/440SE with AGP8X" NVidia.Nv18.4 = "3D Blaster4 MX420 with AGP8X" NVidia.Nv20 = "Creative GeForce3" NVidia.Nv20.1 = "3D Blaster GeForce3 Ti 200" NVidia.Nv20.2 = "3D Blaster GeForce3 Ti 500" NVidia.Nv25.1 = "3D Blaster 4 Ti4600" NVidia.Nv25.2 = "3D Blaster 4 Ti4400" NVidia.Nv25.4 = "3D Blaster 4 Ti4200" NVidia.Nv28.1 = "3D Blaster4 Ti4800" NVidia.Nv28.2 = "3D Blaster4 Ti4200 with AGP8X" NVidia.Nv28.3 = "3D Blaster4 Ti 4800 SE"

Please remember that these drivers are not generic and not official from NVIDIA so only try them out @ your own risk!!

You can download them from Creative Europe HERE. Mirrors will be added later as they are created.

They should work ok on non-creative cards but your current card will show up on your system as a Creative/3D Blaster XXX when you intall them, e.g. if you have Geforce 3 then after you install this driver, the system will list it as "Creative GeForce3", and etc...

However, any installation of these drivers at your own risk sir, they are not from NVIDIA directly ;)

got them down off the euro server ,fired them onto my system running a geforce 4 4200 blaster, yup i can confirm they rock compared to the n/vidia 4109`s,things kinda run smoother in d3d under dx9,now i can get ut 2003 running smooth could not b4.
live for speed runs an average 8fps faster, atuner works fine~:-)
Well satisfied here, bout time creative pulled the stops out.

now let's hope NVIDIA brings out their "unified" DX9 compatible drivers soon! damn, it would be great to have some extra performance or quality with DX9 on my LeadTek Geforce4 Ti4200 128MB :-P

I modded the inf file so the names were the good old NVidia names. These drivers are good. Nature test in 3DMark2001SE came down a notch but the score was the same as before indicating that other test were up. OpenGL is a little bit faster too. It fixed a TV-out bug I had. This is with a GF4 TI4600, the previous drivers were 41.09...

I got this mirrored.

Fast mirror: koti.mbnet.fi/fagiiri/4180_Win2K_XP.zip

I actually can't believe that these drivers could have any real improvement more than a nifty placebo effect :)

Creativellahan on _aivan_ paskat servut, tullu ku jotain 14kt/sek vaikka 512 ADSL sentään.
Ja tuskin "peilaus" on kiellettyä Mbnetin säännöissä? :D

Well damn good that I was wrong!
I was waiting for some improvement from NVIDIA,
ATI was all over them by releasing new sets of Catalyst almost every week!

Mulle tuli jopa 15kt/s samanlaisella 512 ADSL:llä :)... Ei tuo Creative häikäise muutenkaan. Äänikortitkin on mitä on nykyään. VIA:n piirisarjoista eivät tykkää ainakaan. Kaiutinsarjat on kyllä hyviä...

joten antaa palaa vaan; "fire my ass, I beg!" :D

Hehe, eiköhän ne mahda joulun jälkeen ihmetellä että mikä ihmeen piikki on siirtoihin tullu tuos 23-24.päivän välisenä yönä. Yhtäkkiä ihan putken täydeltä on lähteny täältä tavaraa :D
