Creative Labs Plans to Charge Money for Audigy Vista EAX Support

When we released the first beta of ALchemy for X-Fi, we hoped customers would appreciate our efforts. Within only a few months, the response from users and the press has been overwhelmingly positive. Many of our customers have asked if we could adapt ALchemy to Audigy series sound cards. The X-Fi and Audigy series sound cards are built on different hardware architectures, and therefore require separate development efforts. However, based on the requests to date, we are pleased to announce that we have begun development of an implementation of ALchemy for Audigy series sound cards, and hope to offer this product as a low-cost upgrade to interested Audigy owners later this year.

Exactly what does this mean :
"Nevertheless, when the cards are ready"
What cards...we already have Audigy cards...not sure what this is referring to. Probably just me?

Creative has no shame. They would charge for the most too basic drivers if people would let them (as they proved with the SBLive cards).

I for one hope that people send Creative a message and don't give them a dime. Considering they have a monopoly on the whole sound card business (for gamers at least), the only way we can get some actual support from this company is through holding back our cash.

Well this is one person that is following your suggestion. I currently have an Audigy 2, but see no reason to continue supporting Creative in the future. Hopefully there will be alternatives available to me for my next sound product.

Creative is going to regret this.... ive been fux0red with my Audigy anyway....

they bring out the Live! ...leave it on the market as the best soundcard for 4-5years.... then finaly the new Audigy..... and what happens? a couple of months the Audigy 2 comes out, fixing all bugs and worst of all giving it a totaly stylish new software which is incompatible with the Audigy 1 (except hax0red versions... *wave @ Youpax*) slapping all Audigy 1 users in the face bigtime

and now this bullsh!t ?!?! im gonna read up on this later.... but if i actualy have to pay for EAX support for my Audigy 1 in Vista im gonna go crazy!!

its REDICULOUS!!!!!!!!! i wish some other company would finaly bring out something comparable to the hardware power of Creative cards

my 2 euro-cent
