Posted by: Newsfactory on: 09/01/2002 01:36 AM [ Print | 3 comment(s) ] · 1569 views

According to an article on Internetweek.com, the clawhammer is a 32 bit version of the hammer cpu, whereas the opteron is the 64 bit counterpart.

The 32-bit version of the chip, which will be sold under the Athlon name, is due out in the first quarter. The 64-bit version, targeted for higher-end servers, is due in 2003.

The guy who wrote that article is a misinformed moron. AMD's roadmaps clearly show all new CPUs after the Thoroughbred will use the new 64-bit Hammer core.

It would be good if the Warp2Search staff would actually take a good look at submissions so that obvious bs like this could be filtered out. Lately we've even seen posts about warez here, come on people.
