CCleaner (Crap Cleaner) is a freeware system optimization tool that removes unused and temporary files from your system, allowing Windows to run faster, more efficiently and giving you more hard disk space.

the old prefetch data deletion isn't exactly a "cripples applications load time" problem, infact it makes hardly any difference if this is ticked or not. |

Oh it makes a difference but you need to properly test this. Alot of people have followed bad tweaking advice and disabled prefetching. Try reading the article and doing the test EXACTLY how it says to. No one anywhere can provide testing documentation to prove otherwise. |

Yeah but this just cleans Prefetch folder, it doesn't disable the Task Scheduler service. The Prefetch files will be re-created the next time the program is run. I guess it's just for people who want to delete every "temporary" file that they can. |

So why would you want to cripple an applications launch time? The folder is SELF CLEANING and Windows only removes what is not installed. It is for idiots who don't understand prefetching. |
