Everyone knew that sooner or later HTPCNews would finally bring you a guide on building a HTPC. Well folks here it is! Our first in a three part series of building HTPC guides, each focusing on a different price bracket. Today's guide is Building a HTPC for around 1000 Dollars. All of the hardware you could need is covered in this guide, along with some looks at the pieces of software that we all love to use in our HTPC's. For those of you who are just now looking into HTPC's, this is for you. For those of you who have been around for a while, you might get some new ideas from it too.

For the uninformed like me, and the web site certainly assumes you aren't as I had to go off site to find out just what HTPC stood for, HTPC stands for "home theater PC."
