Just spotted this at Digit-life.com.
Time flies by, IT industry is rapidly developing, especially 3D accelerators. Their power and capabilities have markedly improved over the past 5 years. 5 years ago, in 1998 we got the unexampled 3dfx Voodoo 2. It was a separate video card supporting 3D modes only. It had to be installed together with a 2D card...

Digit Life has a history of distorting the scores of the Parhelia intentionally. In the case of Spec Viewperf, I was getting twice as good scores as them with my parhelia on a slower box with the same driver release. With the 1.04 drivers, OpenGL performance has increased TREMENDOUSLY. As for UT2003, the Parhelia is actually a bit faster than the Ti4600 in real life, something that their benchmarks do not show... |

Wow someone biased against matrox instead of the usual ATI/nvidia flame wars !! nice change.. Seriously, why do that ? A friend of mine has a parhelia, but never plays games, great 2D quality. He was a bit sick when i showed him the reef demo playing on my 9700 though ! hehe |

Seeing as I am an engineering student, the drastically improving OpenGL and CAD/CAM application certifications and drivers, AND I like to game, AND I like to have multiple monitors, AND I demand near-perfect 2D, AND some decent DVD playback, AND some damn good drivers, the Parhelia was a no-brainer. Running at 238/620 from the stock 220/550 as well with no voltmod, but improved cooling. |
