Breed Single-Player Demo v1.0

CDV has now released the final single-player demo for Breed, the upcoming sci-fi first-person shooter by Brat Designs. Details on the demo's contents are scarce as it's simply offering a mission labelled 'Single Player Demo Part 1' where "One of your USC units is under heavy fire from the BREED.
They desperately need support against the overpowering enemy. CDV also announced that there will be a sequel in the near future which will continue the mission. The second part of the demo can only be played once the first part has been installed.

Breed's shaping up to be one of the worst games of all time. Don't waste your time downloading the POS demo, unless you want a good laugh. |

I don't get the derision of the first poster, I liked this demo. It seems like a Halo wanna-be, but it looks good and plays great for me....I can take that difference just fine. 
It looked good, it ran good...my only ***** would be it doesn't let you skip cutscenes, but other than I liked it. |

Well you're either easy to please, don't play many games, or smokin' something (and if so, please share). I'd post my own comments about what's wrong with the game, but CableGuy's post over at Blues News sums it up pretty good: "How to make your demo fantatistic TO THE MAX: 1. Start with horrible, hackneyed narration. 2. Switch to a "general" who sounds like he has throat cancer and looks like he's stuck in a can. 3. Make your first combat situation a sluggish landing craft versus a squadron of fast jets. 4. Offer multiple viewing cameras besides first-person, such as "under your feet cam" and "useless isometric 3/4 chase cam" 5. Offer the ability to see four miles of map in any direction, but only see enemies within 20 feet. 6. Make it so that running in the 10-foot gap between mines kills you anyways. 7. Introduce a female Marine so smart, she wears heavy armor everywhere except for her bared breasts. 8. Let the player drive an alien tank that can't hit targets accurately until they're under your treads. 9. Start the demo with 45 seconds of unskippable promo ads, and start the game with 2 minutes of terribly-edited cut scenes. 10. Take out two #2 pencils (sharpened). Jam them into your eyes, then slam your face on a desk. Repeat. Halo killer? This game couldn't eat the peanuts out of the Master Chief's manly turds. " Most amusing. |

I agree, the demo is sooooo weak, heck, it's even weaker than the previous 'beta demo release' of breed! And there they were saying they were tweaking gameplay after numerous customer comments concerning gameplay! Muahahahaha, even the bad-guys look tame in comparison to some of the meatier baddies in Halo [and i reckon Halo was barely 'survivable']. A new definition of gaming hell is Breed PS. the general with the throat cancer was oh so stolen off Warhammer 40,000, and even then, his model is low-poly/-res and he doesn't make you wanna pick up a gun and smash it into the breeds mechanoid faces! If you're gonna make a general, make him an aspiring model, someone you want to be when you're grown up!!! |
