According to Golem the chip powered a black and white LCD display as you can see in the picture above. Advanced technical details were not named by Bitboys. As you already know Bitboys were also showing a PC AGP graphics card in plastic wrapping and not plugged to anything. Codenamed 'Axe' it is powered by 12Mbyte Embedded-DRAM (eDRAM). Juha Taipale, Bitboys CEO, told Golem that Bitboys will concentrate on the mobile market for the time being which is why the date 22/2/2002 on the PC card is relatively old. Bitboys made the decision because of the advanced technological resources their PC card requires, Infineons decision to end their eDRAM research and development as well as a difficult general market situation. Furthermore he added that Bitboys will need further investors to continue with the project. The Glaze3D or Avalanche3D chipset - as it rumoured names are - was expected by analysts to exceed performance levels of Radeon 8500 and GeForce3 solutions. Interested readers can find a 108Mbyte video presentation of the 'Graphics Hardware for Handheld Devices' seminar here.
