Battlefield 2 Editor Leaked

Poor Electronic Arts. They?ve already had a little bit of a problem with their fantastically popular Battlefield 2 PC game. Now the modding community has screwed them, and if you can?t trust modders who can you trust?

Why is this a bad thing? Won't independent people use it to make their own mods for bf2?

Poor EA? I doubt EA really cares, the main problem for them is that people might not know it's a leaked beta version and want support from them for it.

Other than that I can't see EA giving two bits about it, judging by their statements I'd say that was the case.

It's still good of EA to spend as much resources on the tools as they have, it really adds replayability to their product... maybe even at the expense of their own expansions... anyway, gj EA.

They probably meant the editor to be released after the expansion pack got released. So that nobody would run of to an other mods instead of buying the expansion.

Well they have to get the game right first before they start worrying about expansions.

What a joke the game itself is still practically BETA and they are releasing an expansion.

Well only time will tell we have until the end of AUGUST to see if they fix the 140 items they need to and probably then some. Then after that is released with the way they test things will create 200 more problems... LOL.

Typical EA...

Considering that most of the mods for BF1942 out there was created using no tools at all (or community-made tools), it probably does not matter.

EA, from what I have understood, has been very generous towards the mod teams out there. Inviting them to their headquaters before the games release to come and check the mod-tools out etc.

Anyway... first thing for a successful expansion is to have enough people actually own the game. Without that it's doomed to fail, so I doubt EA would hold back.
