#66488 Posted on: 12/05/2008 08:01 AM I've been using AVG for some time, I was always quite happy with it even though it would come up with false reads from time to time. But considering there update a few weeks back that knocked out Xp installs all over the world. I became a somewhat concerned. My duel boot system killed my XP install. Then this past week I picked up a Trojan, I knew it was there but AVG couldn't detect it. To my supprise Windows defender picked it up. But would only remove 2 of the files that were infected. I ended up installing Avast virus software on my system and it detected 14 infected files including the file that brought the Trojan, and removed them. Needles to say it will be some time before I consider using AVG again. BTW Avast as well has a free Home version that has many more features including monitoring instant chat. Plus its integration in Vista is much more seamless then most other programs I have tried. None of my aps or games load slower nor does it hinder online gameplay.
