I'm surprise that there is no known issue for this release of catalyst. =)

no, ATI can't be blamed for game issues. It's either the developper of the game of the user himself but not in any way the catalyst driver!

Slowly I begin to understand why ATI needs to release a new driver every months... it's the only way to fix the many issues catalyst drivers have.

I bought an fx5950 ultra about a week ago just to see what it was about nvidiots and their undying support for a crappy company that releases crappy products.
Is it true that nvidia is junk like most websites claim or is it some sort of internet bias to naturaly dislike a company because they released one or two products that were not up to snuff?

Well let me tell you, all the bugs that were in my games beforehand with my 9800np were still there with the 5950, some of them were even worse such as jedi academy and elite force2.

AA in D3D on the 5950 was absolutely pitiful, and I mean *pitiful*, completely useless, completely worthless."the way its meant to be played"? what a joke.

GL support was great though, better than my 9800np, but when running just 4x aa in gl the frame rates would drop significantly, they wouldn't drop much at all with the 9800np.

I took the card back to compusa and exchanged it on a 9800xt, this new radeon owns the 5950 in every way possible and it only needs one slot and has about half the sound from the fan not to mention it is not as long of a card as the 5950 crap was, I had to reroute all kinds of stuff for the 5950.

Nvidiots, throw away your money on those worthless nvidia cards all you want, for $500 you are getting a card that performes on about the same level as a radeon 9500pro, and that my friend is no exageration at all.

Has the Call of duty problem been fixed?

current workaround is to disable agp fast writes or use cat 3.7

Thank you.. someone with sense at last !!
I agree totally mate, its funny that the only PC in my cafe that has game issues at the moment is the one with a 5900U in it...
These drivers are great so far.. Cheeky of ATI to release them today, first day of the matrix revolutions release. I bet a lot of european gamers missed the release !

Missed release was watching matrix (bad timing ATI !).
Anyway, so far they are great, no problems whatsoever, in any game, including ,COD, HL, CS, UT2003, Quake3, Serious sam SE, BF1942, Max Payne 1 and 2, Halo, Elite Force 1 and 2, Morrowind etc etc... so basically no change there then.

Battlefield 1942 is now a stuttering mess & Call of Duty will not run- I receive an error message. I went back to 3.8 and everythin is fine.

I read somewhere that ATI cards do not officially support fast writes and should be disabled.

read the release notes from the omega drivers: fast-writes must be ENABLED if you have an XT.

But the call of duty bug is still there (read rage3d forums), ATI should be ashamed of themselves. Its really, rellay unbelievable, the best game of this year is not playable with cats 3.8 and 3.9. And still there are people saying ATI makes good drivers.

They create more bugs than they fix. I think you should all go back to cat 1.0.

If you use an AIW you'll probably have opengl problems (opengl games won't run) but using the opengl file from 3.8 or earlier is a quick-fix. According to CM, he's reproduced the problem and should be looking at it in detail tomorrow (today, now I guess).

No change there he says, ATI do you hear? No need for new drivers, because everything is OK. Why even bother rushing new drivers if there are absolutely no problems at all with cats 3.8. Or could it be that you are the only one who has no bugs?

Let me see, you went to see the matrix, you installed 3.9, you tried at least 13 games to make they work allright. Why even bother testing all these games if you never had any problem whatsoever with the previous???????? My conclusion is that you had problems with all 13 games and wanted to make sure the problems are fixed.

matrix: 3 hours
13 games: 6.5 hours (you need at least half an hour per game to make sure they work)
posting on w2s: 0.5 hour
total: 10 hours

someone has to much free time... or is just lying.

On a sidenote: Your posts are always pointless and utter crap. We can all see right through it. You always act like you know everything but you never refer to any proof. I do admire you that you are the only one who never has any issue with ATI drivers while the rest of the world experiences a lot of them. Don't you think that your love for ATI blinds you from the truth (OMG I sound like Morpheus now). The truth that ATI makes the fastest cards on the planet IF they work because they also make lousy drivers. They did before and they do now with catalust 3.9.

Bashing nVidia and defending ATI seems to be your daily job, but for the sake of your credibility, throw away your nvidia motherboard coz a fanATIc with a nforce2 motherboard is what I call a nvidiot.
