ATi AMD Chipset Roadmap

Posted by: Newsfactory on: 10/06/2006 02:53 PM [ Print | 0 comment(s) ] · 1011 views

ChileHardware has gotten some exclusive slides on the ATi/AMD Chipset Roadmap. It seems that RD790 and SB700 is scheduled for second half of 2007. RX790 and IGP solutions RS790 and RS740 are pin to pin compatible with RS690, RX690 and RS690C chipsets.

What's coming should be the elmination of the Master/Slave Style of present Cross-Fire setups through the Cross-Fire Connector on the PCB of Graphics Cards, and also Physics support as announced back in Computex this year. While RD580 supports 3 Graphics Cards, RD790 will support 4 Graphics Cards, perhaps a Quad-CrossFire Setup.
