Asus V9900 GeForce FX - AA & Anisotropic Quality Test

Digit-Life takes a different approach this time on the review. We all know the FX is fast and that it's loud. But how does it stack up against ATI's now 'mainstream' Radeon 9700 Pro in terms of quality? Well that is a different story and here is a snip of the answer: All these attributes of a super-accelerator do not help it outsmart RADEON 9700 PRO, except a few cases of victory, but at the maximum AA and anisotropy levels this card loses the battle. [...] All these facts and NVIDIA's striving for NV35 made NV30 an outcast with the manufacturers. Few companies are going to roll out cards based on NV30, but it will be done mostly for the sake of press-releases. Such cards won't be in large supply. Wise words by Andrew Worobyew. Couldn't have said it better myself.

Again im happy that I can run games in 1940x1440 instead of bothering with AA. A 19" costs less than a graphiccard you know.

A decent 19 costs more than a graphics card.

Found a 19" for $250 yesterday, capable of 1940x1440 in 75hz. Most of em is about $300-350 ... Radeon 9700Pro starts at $350... and that card is half a year old now.

Besides, you buy a monitor once. You want to upgrade your graphicboard once per year.
