As i was recovering from Winamp5 beta run , i bumped into this news . Apple has released their very popular (and legal) Mp3 distribution software iTunes for Windows XP.
I installed it and was greeted with the brushed metal finishing all over the software window. (for me , first impression is everyting); I would had love the Milk theme .

This program is a lovely peice of work! Very simple, yet powerful. A must for iPod owners, as that crap MusicMatch Jokebox was bloody awful. And it comes with the new Quicktime 6.4 as well. Lots of encoding options, which is quite supprising, as I expected almost no support for the MP3 format, but there are many options, including a VBR option. Very nice. Think of this as what Windows Media Player has been trying to become over the last few years. At least for music anyway! 9 out of 10 Apple ;-) |

I thought Winamp was bloated, jeeze! IMO the interface is way too bulky. *note: Be careful, this has a tendancy to rename your album collections (swaps the album and track number field over) when you move them into the iTunes album listing. |
