First Dell pulls back 4.1 million laptop batteries, now Apple has announced a voluntary recall of 1.8 million lithium-ion batteries. The affected 1.1 million notebooks include certain models of the iBook G4 series as well as the PowerBook G4 series. The laptops containing the recalled batteries were sold in October 2003 through August 2006. Apple said it had received nine reports of batteries overheating, including two reports of minor burns from handling overheated computers.
