Another WGA Failure

Posted by: Newsfactory on: 08/10/2006 04:28 PM [ Print | 1 comment(s) ] · 2985 views

I'm reluctantly running a pirated version of Windows and can't get caught no matter how hard I try. A few weeks ago, I spoke to some of the folks on the WGA team and asked them to send me a pirated version of Windows XP.

According to Microsoft, 80 percent of the 60 million people who have been nabbed by the WGA validation tool are running versions of Windows with stolen or pirated volume license keys. These versions of Windows are supposed to be available only to corporate customers and only as upgrades. Unlike retail versions, they don?t require activation, which makes them an ideal target of pirates and bootleggers.

The user at ZNet was lucky to get all the updates, the keys will soon get blacklisted. The person making the blog hasn't even touched the main facet of pirating windows e.g the windows validation hacks (when the system is recognised as pirated).

Also no pirate would look on google for a pre-listed key, they would do as all pirates do and use the "keygen" to produce a unique key that no one has ever used before.

The blogger seems out of his depth in thsi situation and does not represent the current windows pirating situation at present.
