Made in Fountainhead Entertainment's Quake III-based Machinimation, this is Quake III as you've never seen it, showing the power of what is, now, a fairly old engine. 'Anna' is the story of a single flower's life, from birth to - well, I won't spoil it for you. Resembling nothing so much as a Hans Christian Anderson story come to life, it combines a Burtonesque Gothic fairytale sensibility with simply beautiful artwork and a surprisingly subtle story.

It's strange, but it's done well with the technology they have. I'm impressed by what they made of it, in the sense that you don't watch it thinking "computer graphics quake 3 engine" but you more or less see the story as if you were to read it in a simple book and imagine it. Most interesting thing is, it breaks the book genre because it uses no words It's nonetheless quite good, though it's not my particular style of tastes of stories of course. They get a thumbs up from me, though. |

I agree. Try the Anachronox movie if you didn't try the game....it's quite good. |
