We have found a very interesting picture about a mainboard which has about 4 Opteron (AMD K8) CPUs in use. A lot of memory slots and more.
Check it out!!

Of course it's fake. Just as the previous post pointed out there's no power connector, I can guarantee it's fake on the basis that with that many ram components, one USUALLY uses a board that plugs into a slot that holds all the memory. This is to try and get all of the memory and the board to fit reasonably within a tower. |

MagamiAKO, have you see technical layouts of what the opteron can do? Each CPU has it's own memory controller, hence why there are so many ram slots. As for the power connector. It's a server board, they do not, in anyway, follow the same ATX standards that we use in desktop computers. This board is probably a prototype. But from a very close inspection there's nothing to show it being a fake. Also if you notice there are connector on the left of the board. These are probably where the power is connected to. |

I've never seen a mainboard that shoved all of their components into the board like that, especially the memory slots. I know why it has that many memory slots, just like there are 8 way xeon systems that have 32 memory slots. Yet the thing is that the memory is USUALLY placed on a daughter board that plugs into the system via a slot. This mainboard would not be a prototype, as the hammer is due out relatively soon. The picture is a complete fake. |
